Up All Night- The Growing Prysocks

Thanksgiving: Family

Filed under: , , , by: David and Stephanie

After our wonderful road trip, we relaxed and had a wonderful time visiting David's mom and step-dad in Kosciusko, MS.

We were so relaxed, in fact, that hardly any pictures were taken. Rats.

However, before we left we did manage to catch a few moments of Jonah with his grandparents:

And, just because he's so darn cute, here is Jonah dressed up in his Thanksgiving onesie {thanks Grammy York!}:
Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving: Traveling

Last Wednesday, we loaded up the car and drove to Mississippi.

With a four-month-old.

And a dog.

Perhaps not our smartest move.

What was supposed to be an eight hour trip turned into a 10 1/2 hour trip.

But we made it!

Jonah experienced his first road trip and David and I survived our first road trip with the baby. I definitely feel like we deserve a medal.

Or a glass of wine.

Raspberry

Filed under: , , , by: David and Stephanie

A few weeks ago, Jonah learned how to blow raspberries. We first discovered his new skill set when David leaned down to kiss Jonah's sweet little face and, instead, got a face full of raspberry/spit. Clearly hilarious to one of us. Not so much to the other.

Since then, practicing his raspberry blowing talent is Jonah's favorite activity. He's doing it like it's his job lately. Or like he's training for the Olympics. He'd rather practice than play with any of his awesome toys.

Or eat. Or sleep.

So, clearly, I have had ample opportunity to snap a few pictures. I'm never quick enough with a video, but it's in the works.

{Warming up}

{Intense action shot he'll love me for later}

Peek-A-Boo

Filed under: , , , , , by: David and Stephanie

I now present to you a video of us playing peek-a-boo with Jonah. This was taken when the Three Amigas visited and I am sad to report that Jonah's enthusiasm for this game has somewhat diminished. But that's why we have the miracle of video on smartphones!

Note: Before you comment on how crazy I am in this video (this is David, btw), you should know that the two styles of peek-a-boo are taken from an episode of Up All Night (click the title of this post for the link). Please forgive the incessant dog barking.

Helping in the Kitchen

Filed under: , , by: David and Stephanie

Before Jonah, making dinner was a relatively simple task. I'd decide what we were having sometime late in the afternoon, check for ingredients, and maybe run to the store to pick up a few things {or, more likely, ask David to pick up a few things on his way home}. Then I would throw it all together and have it artfully displayed whenever David arrived.

With a four-month-old, things are a tad different. These days preparing dinner is an all day affair. Whenever Jonah is contentedly sitting in his exersaucer or down for a quick nap, I hurriedly do as much done as possible. More often than not, dinner isn't ready until well after David is home and my need for a pretty table setting has been pushed to the back burner {no pun intended}.

But I honestly prefer this new way of tackling dinner. It might be somewhat tiring and occasionally frustrating, but it's completely worth it. Because I have the most adorable sous chef ever.

Daddy Mornings

Filed under: , , , by: David and Stephanie

While we are extremely grateful for David's job, it frequently means that Jonah and I don't get to see much of him during the week. Often he leaves early in the morning and doesn't get home until after Jonah is already in bed.

That's why on mornings that David gets to stay with us just a little bit longer, I am so thankful.

Because seeing my husband love on our son is absolutely fantastic.

Park Adventure with the Three Amigas

Friday afternoon we all made our way to the local park. Angie and Josi loved snuggling and helping with Jonah and I was extremely grateful for some helpful hands.

Angie really wanted to slide with Jonah, so we headed straight for the playground.

The slide was a little high, but they braved it like champs.

And had time for cuddles afterwards.

Jonah loved it but finally the excitement proved too much for him. He was a sleepy little guy.

Ladies, it was so fun to see you this weekend. I am so glad Jonah has {finally} been introduced to Aunt Josi and Aunt Angie. You were such a big help all weekend and I loved watching you love on my little man! Come back any time. I know Jonah would love it.

The Three Amigas Reunion

Filed under: , , , , by: David and Stephanie

Late Thursday night, after several delayed flights and a very long day, my sweet friends Josi and Angie arrived to meet Jonah.

We've all been friends since our freshman year in high school. {I have to get my high school pictures scanned. The world is totally missing out by not seeing freshman year Stephanie.}

{We were seniors in this picture. Just to give you an idea of what babies we were when we first met. :) }

They were there when I married David {almost} five years ago.

We've had countless New Years celebrations, several reunions, and we have managed to stay in touch since our high school graduation 10 {seriously?} years ago. I am definitely blessed by them both.

{Josi and Jonah bonding time}

Seeing them with Jonah is such an unexpected joy. Somehow, when we were little girls just starting high school, it never occurred to me that I would someday get to see them with my son.

But it. Is. Awesome.

Jonah's Four Month Post

Filed under: , , by: David and Stephanie

It's crazy to think that just one year ago, we were first learning that Jonah was on the way.

And now we have a beautiful four month old.

During his photo shoot this month, Jonah was super chatty and silly; this made for a fun session full of smiles and an extremely wiggly baby. However, it also made getting a good picture of our little guy pretty difficult. {I'm sure other Mamas can relate!}

{Sassy Jonah}

I did manage to snap a few shots just to compare him to his Mini-me doll.

{So big!}

{Daddy was off camera, making funny faces. Jonah loves his Daddy <3}

{Our tall boy: 98th percentile!}

We are so blessed.

Things Jonah Loves at Four Months:

Sticking his tongue out
Watching other people stick their tongues out
When Mama or Daddy blows raspberries
Watching people make funny faces
Mama singing classic rock/country
{specifically: Roll in My Sweet Baby's Arms & My Old Kentucky Home}
Blowing bubbles
Munching on his fist
Sitting in his exersaucer
Being held

Jonah, each day we are blown away by how much we love you. You are the biggest blessing God has ever given to us and we are more grateful for you than you will ever know. You are such a happy little man; you love to be cuddled and held and your absolute favorite thing is just to be with Mama and Daddy. And we feel the exact same way.

One Year.

Jonah's Four Month Stats

Filed under: , , by: David and Stephanie

Jonah had his four month check up today.

Here are his newest stats:

Height: 27 inches {98%}
Weight: 16 lb 2 oz {77%}
Head Circumference: 41.6 cm {34%}

All in all, it was a pretty uneventful visit {our favorite kind}. After a chat with the doctor, Jonah received several shots and didn't like it one bit {and neither did Mama}.

But, at the end of the day, we are thankful that Jonah is a happy, healthy baby. That's definitely something to smile about.

Happy Birthday, David!

Filed under: , , , by: David and Stephanie

{Warning: I got nostalgic when I started looking at pictures for this post. It is extremely picture heavy!}

Today is my sweet husband's 28th birthday.

It's crazy for me to think that it was approximately seven years ago when we became friends while we studied abroad in Oxford, England.

{Our earliest picture together.}
{Hey Val! Hey Amanda!}

It took a year or so, but we eventually started dating.

{December 2005}

And not long afterwards, David proposed.
{April 2006}

The wedding, however, took forever to arrive. But it was so worth the wait.
{May 2007}

{The beachfront candlelight dinner on our honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico}

So much has changed since then. We've graduated from MFI, moved across the country {twice}, celebrated four anniversaries together and been blessed with our sweet baby boy.

David, I cannot tell you enough how honored I am to be your wife. You are honestly the most wonderful man I've ever known and it is a privileged to walk through life along side you. I am humbled daily by the fact that you chose me to share your life with.

I am so thankful for you. I'm so thankful to God for creating you, loving you, saving you, and trusting you to me.

I love watching you seek after the Lord. I am constantly amazed by your passion for Christ and perseverence in the faith. You have grown so much in the Lord in the few short years I have known you. I cannot wait to see what He will continue to do in and through you.

You are an amazing husband.

You are an incredible father.

And Jonah and I are extremely blessed.

We love you so much.
