Before Jonah, making dinner was a relatively simple task. I'd decide what we were having sometime late in the afternoon, check for ingredients, and maybe run to the store to pick up a few things {or, more likely, ask David to pick up a few things on his way home}. Then I would throw it all together and have it artfully displayed whenever David arrived.
With a four-month-old, things are a tad different. These days preparing dinner is an all day affair. Whenever Jonah is contentedly sitting in his exersaucer or down for a quick nap, I hurriedly do as much done as possible. More often than not, dinner isn't ready until well after David is home and my need for a pretty table setting has been pushed to the back burner {no pun intended}.
But I honestly prefer this new way of tackling dinner. It might be somewhat tiring and occasionally frustrating, but it's completely worth it. Because I have the most adorable sous chef ever.
