This has been a pretty eventful month for you, Jonah Matthew.
I've almost given up writing what sizes of clothes you wear because it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. But, for posterity: All of your summer clothes are 12 months and still fit great. All of your winter clothes are 18 months and, while some are a little long, they fit as well.
You've gotten several new teeth! A few weeks ago I noticed two of your upper teeth coming in on each side. I think they're your first molars, but some have said it's way to early. So I guess it could be your canines? Anyway, I think they're giving you a lot of trouble as they make their way in because you've had some trouble sleeping lately Once they're in you'll have a grand total of seven teeth!
On October 4th, you started walking! It happened so suddenly and it absolutely amazed me and Daddy. You hardly ever crawl anymore and you're seem to love this new independence. You love rearranging any furniture you can move and walking around showing us your toys.
You also decided that you were done nursing and weaned this month. It's been a gradual thing and I knew that it was coming. I'm proud of how grown up you are but sad that my sweet baby isn't really a baby anymore.
Additionally, you went from two naps to one this month. Before we made the transition, you would nap great in the morning but not at all in the afternoon. Late afternoons and evenings were a really tough time for you. We switched you over a couple of weeks ago and you've been napping beautifully in the afternoon. By the time your nap-time rolls around, you're so very ready {and you've even fallen asleep in my lap before nap-time twice!}.
You're still such a sweet little man. Even though we're done nursing, you like to cuddle with me for a few minutes before bed every night. You love to give hugs, kisses, high fives and fist bumps. You also like to bring different toys to Daddy and I to kiss. You'll even try to get Beesly to kiss them too.
You still love watching Elmo and ask for it daily {by singing "ya ya ya ya": Elmo's World's theme song}. We don't watch it every day, but it's fun to see you get so excited about it.
We tried coloring this month as well and you seemed to love it! Foolishly, I didn't use washable markers, so your efforts were visible on your skin for a few days. But you had a blast and I didn't mind the mess. I've already got some toddler friendly art supplies ready to go for Christmas.
As always, you're talking up a storm. Here are all the new words you added to your vocabulary this month: church, duck, up, amen, yummy {nummy}, pumpkin {puh-kin}, Papa {paw-paw}, Grammy {Gee}, baby, messy {mess}, rice, robot {ro-ro or bot}, nose {nuz}, mouth {mouf}, and bye guys. That means you have about 30 words under your belt. Good job, Buddy!

Jonah, we love you so much. You're such a sweet boy and we're so blessed by you. Several times a day your daddy and I look at each other and marvel that we have you. You were and are an answered prayer and we're so thankful that God entrusted you to us. We pray every day for wisdom, grace, patience so that we can raise you to love Jesus. We pray that this world never crushes your sweet spirit and that you will always know much we adore you.

Are you backing these up? They're so sweet, and I'm sure he'll love them when he's older.
I'm sort of backing them up, Kirra! I'm working on a way to incorporate it into his scrapbook. It's a work in progress, but that's why I love these updates. They'll be there when i {finally} get to them! :-)
