Five months. It's gone so quickly and so slowly at the same time. There is a saying that, as a parent of little ones, the days are long but the years are short. With you, the months are flying by quicker and quicker and we are all trying to soak up every second.
It still seems like you're working on cutting teeth but none have appeared yet. Earlier in the month the bottom right side of your gum was very swollen {which, according to the chart, you aren't supposed to get until way later}, but I haven't noticed any teeth poking through. However, you still drool like crazy and gnaw on your hands constantly. I think I'll be getting your super cool teething necklace out soon!
Though they aren't quite as roomy as they once were, you are still wearing six month clothes {although the onesie in the pictures is a 12 month. Crazy}.
We've gotten out a few of the nine month things but you're swimming in
them still. I love moments that remind me of your smallness.
You're acting more and more interested in food. Earlier this month, I had you perched on my lap as I ate. Whenever I brought my utensil to my mouth, you followed the food all the way there. We will probably wait until closer to you're six months old, but you might let us know you're ready before then.
You're so very close to sitting up completely unassisted. You can do it for brief stretches of time but whenever you get excited {which is often!} you wiggle so much that you tumble over. I realized this month that I'm so used to carrying you that I haven't truly given you much practice at floor time, so I'm going to try to be better this month.
You hit several milestones this month! You rolled form your tummy to your back and passed a toy from one hand to the other. You found your feet and love to chew on them or pull on your socks. You're also responding more and more to your name and are letting us know your preferences {when you want to be held, when you want to play, when you want to sit, etc.}.
You love Jonah so much. I catch you looking at him with a look of complete joy at least once a day. He makes you laugh all the time and he thinks you're pretty incredible as well. He loves to report what you're doing {"Mama! Baybee Gee-yun is blowing bubbles!"} and thinks making you laugh is the greatest thing ever.
You're still sleeping great at night. You typically go down for good between 9 o'clock and 10 o'clock after a few false starts. Then you sleep until 4:30am and 5:00am, nurse, and go back to sleep until closer to 7 or 8 o'clock. Naps are still touch-and-go. You've given us two hour stretches more frequently during the day, but we never know if/when it will happen {it's still really appreciated, though!}.
You're such a talker! You love to coo and blow raspberries and screech. You even make a noise that Daddy swears is your wookie impression. We love to talk with you and mimic your noises. It always makes you smile, as though you're so excited to communicate with us.
You still love to be held as much as possible and simply love attention. You're completely content sitting with Mama or watching Daddy make faces or watching Jonah dance around the room. You love us all so well, sweet boy, and we're so grateful for it.

Baby boy, I cannot possible tell you enough how much we love you. I adore each and every second of this stage. I love the way you need me and love us all. I love the feeling the weight of you on my hip as I talk with Jonah, work on chores, or get supper started. I love hearing your laugh when Daddy plays with you and seeing you smile adoringly at your big brother. You are a Godsend, little love, and I thank Him for you every day. You have added such sweetness, warmth, and peace to our family. You bring things that we didn't even know we needed. You are a joy and a blessing and my heart is so full of love for you.
