My dear, sweet friend Alyson came into town of Friday afternoon to spend the weekend. I was ecstatic all the way to the airport and had barely slept the night before. I hadn’t seen Aly since her wedding last May, so it was GREAT to spend time with her!
We had a quick bite at TGI Friday’s and then headed to Teddy Roosevelt Island to do a little sight-seeing. When I came to DC my senior year of high school, this was my favorite monument, and I was so excited to see it in the spring.
There were SO many people, but it was well worth it. The blossoms were beautiful and I was happy to share them with my husband and my sweet friend.
We even passed the ‘Tulip Library’ on our walk. Tulips are my favorite and it was so neat to be able to see such a variety.
We also went to the Holocaust Museum and saw the Special Exhibit on Nazi Propoganda as well as the special Children’s exhibit. They were all wonderful, but no photos were allowed.
The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing around our apartment and having a lot of girl-talk time. {David was very patient to put up with us all weekend}. There is nothing better than having quality time with a friend!
Aly, it was so wonderful to see you! I’ve missed you terribly but I loved our girly weekend! You (and your wonderful hubby) are welcome any time!
